Mummy flier

BUY YOUR TICKETES HERE!

Experience a historically accurate mummy unwrapping reenactment! Located in a Victorian mansion that used to be a Mausoleum, observe for yourself a mummy that was brought back from our travels in Egypt, unwrapped and explained layer by layer! Experience vendors with vintage, antique, Victorian, Steampunk and Egyptian goods from their own travels.

What is a Mummy Unwrapping?
During the Victorian era (and even through the 1920s) people brought back real mummies from their travels to Egypt. Much like Seances, and other Victorian traditions, there was always an element of entertainment surrounding these strange traditions. Anthropologists & Educators would “unwrap” the purchased (or often stolen) mummies & explain each layer of the mummification process in front of an audience of curious onlookers!

**Our presentation WILL NOT INCLUDE A REAL CORPSE! Our mummy is a (very realistic) replica. An explanation of why this practice was unethical then (and now) will be given.

This presentation is in collaboration with the incredible Anthropologist Dr. Jade Luiz.

Suggested Dress code: Vintage Travel outfit, Explorers outfits, Victorian, Steampunk, Ancient Egypt, Gold, Tan, Beige, etc!
